Bentonite Clay Toothpaste with Xylitol

Equipment

  • 1 glass, plastic or ceramic bowl
  • 1 plastic or ceramic measuring spoons
  • 1 fork or silicone spatula for mixing
  • 1 glass jar and small spoon for application

Materials

  • 4 tbsp food grade bentonite clay
  • 2 tbsp powdered xylitol
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
  • 8 tbsp distilled water
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cacao powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Add all of the optional ingredients together and combine,
  • Add bentonite clay, xylitol and optional ingredients in a large bowl. Mix and combine with a fork.
  • Add the coconut oil and combine. Add the distilled water and thoroughly combine until no lumps remain.
  • Pour into your jar.

Notes

  • The toothpaste will thicken over time. If it does dry out, add more distilled water until it is the right consistency.
  • Spit the toothpaste into the trash to avoid clogging sink pipes due to the coconut oil.
  • Store at room temperature for a week and remaining paste in the fridge for up to one month.
